  Getting out of my Comfort Zone (11th Dec 2009)

  

  It had been raining and cold for a week - great weather for sitting beside the fire with book.    Late in the afternoon I noticed a small crack in the cloud and decided to venture to the beach in the hope that some sun would break through - I needed the fresh air anyway!       I set the camera on the tripod and found my shot and then waited for some light .... it started to rain so I put the camera under my coat, it then hailed so I ran back to the car leaving the tripod on the beach.    As soon as the hail stopped I put the camera back under my coat again and went back to the tripod.   When the rain stopped I put the camera back on the tripod and as I did the light came through the clouds for about thirty seconds.    Had I not left the tripod on the beach I would have missed this shot.

  I guess the moral of the story is you don't get many landscape photos with your feet up by the fire.
